True Dialect
Bio
True Dialect is the voice of someone who’s walked the hardest roads and turned every scar into sound. Based in Brighton, Alex Howie (aka True Dialect) creates hip-hop that doesn’t just speak—it breathes, rooted in lived experience navigating mental health systems, hospital admissions, and the quiet battles most people never see. His music is unfiltered testimony: raw bars over dusty boom-bap drums, reggae-infused grooves, and messages built to liberate rather than entertain.
Influenced by golden-era hip-hop (think early Nas, Common, Gang Starr) and roots reggae (Bob Marley, Steel Pulse), True Dialect refuses to sugar-coat. His tracks explore the isolation, misunderstanding, and institutional weight carried by those whose voices are often silenced. He stands up for the people he met along the way—the ones labelled, medicated, and dismissed—who still carry incredible strength and humanity.
For years he made music alone, purely for his own peace of mind. Now he’s ready to share it. Every line is intentional: an invitation to think freely, to be true to yourself, to remember that survival is not weakness—it’s proof of resilience.
True Dialect isn’t here to shock or preach. He’s here to connect, to remind listeners that even in the darkest corridors, there’s still room for light, rhythm, and real talk.
Listen. Feel it. Share it. The conversation starts now.
